Banding Report for Neawanna Wetland Preserve
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR

22 May 1999

Method: Up to eight 9m mist nets are placed in mixed Oregon
Crabapple/Twinberry/Spruce along the the upper Neawanna River,
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR. Captured birds are measured, ringed
with USBBL numbered metal bands and released. Data on time of
capture and side of net captured are also recorded to gain
an understanding of movements through the area.

Notes: A bright and sunny morning made several of the nets a bit too
easy to see and may have depressed the capture rate today.
The banding site was busy with birds. Most notable were at least
2 OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHERS and noisy movements of BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS,
WILSON'S WARBLERS and YELLOW WARBLERS.
