the South Jetty of the Columbia River, Clatsop Co., OR

Method: 30 minute station count at 100m west of "3 rocks" on
SJCR using 20x60 Bushnell spotting scope and 8x50 Bushnell
binoculars. Birds were sorted as to flyby, sitting on beach, sitting
on ocean or sitting on river.

Notes: The number of PACIFIC LOONS and SOOTY SHEARWATERS moving
past the jetty has increased since last week. A group of 5
ARCTIC TERNS were feeding with BONAPART'S GULLS.through most of
the observation period. Also seen, but outside the time observation
period were BRANT and COMMON MERGANSER. 2 GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS
and an OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER were also seen on the jetty outside
the observation period.
