Laura and I walked around the Lacey "cheese factory clearcut" on Sunday,
until the sun and the dirt bikers got the better of us. The most noteworthy
bird was a Townsend's Solitaire, hanging out with robins along the north
side of the cut. The heavy snows in the mountains must be hitting these
guys hard.

We saw our first Willow Flycatchers for the year. Pacific-slopes were
numerous, and we saw one Hammond's as well. Wilson's, MacGillivray's, and
Orange-crowned Warblers were there in numbers. Yellowthroats were
everywhere. Still absent: House Wrens, Vesper Sparrows, Lazuli Buntings.
