Hi Tweets,

Just wondering if the bird I saw and heard in the bushes near the Boeing
Buildings in Eastgate was a Rufous Sided Towhee or not.

It was a bit larger than an Oregon Junco and seemed like its breast was
quite bright white. It's head was black. I couldn't get a good look at
its sides because of where it was in the tree and I where I was in the
parking lot.

It's call sounded like a "tweetie boid chirp" followed by what could be
described as an an electronic spring, like sort of a bouncy "tweeeeeee".

The area around the old airport does seem to be towhee habitat.

The little storm water sump off 160th in that same office park is alive
with redwing blackbirds. I've at least three males and several females,
and they're all busy squabbling and chasing each other around.

Anybody know if I'll spot any killdeer in the grassy area around the
remenents of the old Bellevue Airport runway which is behind the Boeing
Buildings?

Oh, all we sighted on our Mountaineers hike were a bunch of noisy
Stellar's Jays swooping and squaking around overhead us as we ate lunch.
They weren't bold enough to come down and panhandle like the ones at
Longmire.
