Yes, and no. I don't know about carp, but Arowana will readily jump out of
the water to capture whatever. It's a South American fish, lives in the
Amazon, among the other rivers there. I know you've seen it in pet shops. It
has a long, silvery, torpedo shaped body with a mouth that "hinges" at the
bottom of the jaw, meaning that it opens upwards. They also have two small
"feelers" growing at the center of the "lip"making it look as if it's got a
fish in it's mouth with the tail dangling out.

Arowana can grow to six feet in length and will very often jump many times
their length out of the water. They eat anything they can catch, to include
small mammals like monkeys that happen to be dangling from a tree branch over
the water.
