Hi Tweets,
I had a fairly slow morning at Shoreview, at least as far as numbers
go. I saw 43 species in my time down there including Willow
Flycatchers 3 species of warblers (how I missed orange-crowned is
beyond me) and a flock of Red Crossbills.
I was also fortunate enough to witness a Sharpie food transfer...I was
watching the male plucking something when he lifted his head and made
sort of a kekekekekeke call. A few seconds later, the female came
through and the male flew off his perch, letting the plucked bird fall.
The female caught it in mid-air, did an abrupt about face, and both
were gone...
