Subject: Duck dancing on Green Lake

I was rounding the small craft center, coming from the
Bathhouse direction, and my eye caught a hen mallard
and about eight tiny ducklings jitter-bopping on the
water. At first I thought perhaps she was trying to
nip them, and they were dodging her. But even the
ones out of her reach were jabbing their heads into
the air, hopping slightly out of the water, over and
over. As I got closer, I saw that they were feeding on
a large group of bugs that were just above the water's
surface. My, they were entertaining!
