Columbia Estuary Report - 05/31/1999

Arrivals this week include WESTERN WOOD PEWEE and WILLOW FLYCATCHERS.

A big movement of YELLOW WARBLERS pushed through over the weekend,
including the first females. Female WILSON'S WARBLERS have also
arrived in numbers.

There are now at least 5 PURPLE MARTINS at the Hammond boat basin.

There are still very few PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHERS calling in the area
which seems curious. Singing BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS have also mysteriously
disappeared.
