Saw the count report, thought I'd throw this out
there: wish I could remember the exact date but don't
think I saved the e-mail. My dad lives in Fauntleroy,
SW Seattle and reported in early-mid October, seeing
an amazing sight (to them, they'd never seen it before
in 30+years there) of about 20-25 turkey vultures all
together up over the house riding the updrafts in lazy
circles, moving slowly south generally along the
shoreline, which is rather steep up from the Sound.

My dad talked to a someone at the UW who told him it
was normal to see them in a flock like that when they
are migrating (but Dad said, normal or not, it was
still quite a sight).

Just wish I'd seen it, too!
