Subject: A Question Of Syntax

Hi Tweets,

I've noticed a quirky syntax when reporting bird sightings.

"the EURASIAN KESTREL had been relocated in Skagit County, Washington"

The verb phrase "had been relocated" makes me think someone or something had
picked up the bird and *carried* it to the new location. To me it sounds
awkward and contrived.

When I think of "relocation" I think of those folks who help a corporate
exec move from one city to another.

Why not just say, "the Eurasian Kestrel is now in Skagit County...." or
"the Eurasian Kestrel flew to Skagit County".

Just a thought.....
