The EURASIAN KESTREL put on a show again this morning for a number
of us who showed up to see it. It was using the "gong" perch again from
which it was actively eyeing prey. This is the same perch described by
Steve Mlodinow about a mile north of the Bow post office on the east side
of the road.

I'm hoping my video footage taken through my scope comes out. This
was a handsome bird. I haven't examined any references yet, but I'm
wondering how helpful seeing cream-tipped primaries and a semi-contrasting
gray rump are in ageing or sexing this gem. Thought I overheard someone
to say a gray rump is indicative of a female bird...?
