In the wind storm last Wednesday, the cottonwood with the venerable Bald Eagle
nest went down.

I couldn't see the nest last Thursday, so I went back today. A thorough
scanning from the R/C field convinced me that it was missing. I then met with
Mike Crandall from KC Parks, and he and I went in through an east access into
the southeast corner of the park, and I found the downed tree with a wad of
sticks with feathers.

The eagles had been very successful of late with that nest, usually fledging
two young, and three in 1997.

Could all you Tweets please report all sightings of adult Bald Eagles near the
north end of Lake Sammamish to me please? I would like to track them, to
figure out if they will build a new nest nearby.

Please send reports to:

Please be as specific as you can as to locations.

Thanks.
