Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This

A ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was at Fields November 1. On November 1 a

A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW and two WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were near
Brookings November 3, the same day both species were seen farther north
near Langlois.

Two PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVERS were in Curry County October 28. Another was
at the North Spit of Coos Bay the next day. An OLDSQUAW, a ROCK
SANDPIPER, a MOCKINGBIRD, and two VESPER SPARROWS were on the Spit
November 3.

Recent storms have pushed many sea birds closer to shore and many were
reported during the week. On October 28 large numbers of FULMARS, 6
BULLER'S SHEARWATERS, 2 PINK-FOOTED SHEARWATERS, and 5 SHORT-TAILED
SHEARWATERS were seen off Boiler Bay, along with several jaegers. A
LEACH'S STORM-PETREL was off the South Jetty of the Columbia River
October 27.

A GLAUCOUS GULL, 2 HERRING GULLS, and a THAYER'S GULL were at the mouth
of the D River in Lincoln City November 3.

Over 100 SNOW GEESE were in the River S Unit of Ridgefield NWR October
30. A PACIFIC LOON and an EURASIAN WIGEON were at Oaks Bottom in Portland
October 30. On October 29 six CINNAMON TEAL, 75 HOODED MERGANSERS, and 50
COMMON MERGANSERS were at the Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove. About
150 GOLDFINCHES are in the area also. A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was at the
Tualatin NWR near Sherwood October 27.

A PACIFIC LOON was on Big Lake in Santiam Pass October 28. A SURF SCOTER,
2 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, and a RED-NECKED GREBE were on nearby Suttle
Lake October 31. A PACIFIC LOON was on Upper Klamath Lake October 28.

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was at a Bend feeder October 28. A large flock of
PINYON JAYS was at Hatfield Lake, east of Bend October 29. The next day
many were seen in the junipers a few miles farther east.

Thats it for this week.
