I would never have brought up grammar but, since someone else did, I want to
get a couple of pet peeves off my chest. (By the way, I did my master's
thesis on teaching grammar. After a lot of research, I learned that our
current methods of teaching grammar are based on the 18th century methods of
teaching latin and are virtually useless for teaching english to native
english speakers.) While site can be used as both a noun and a verb, people
these days seem to think any noun can be used as a verb no, no, no! Also
one does not make a noun plural by adding -age to it (as in signage). The
proper way to make a plural is to add -s. Please forgive me for this
diatribe and thank you for letting me vent. I do not belong to the Grammar
Police and suffered a great deal when I had to teach grammar to
sixth-graders.
