Please forgive me for going out on a limb like this but it does not take too
much imagination to figure out that Bud Anderson had something to do with
banding the Eurasian Kestrel. Not that I object or think there is anything
wrong with that, mind you. It would be nice to see an account of the close
examination of this bird from the banders - how it was caught, length,
weight and how those compare with American Kestrels and Merlins, the
condition of the legs and feet, etc.
