Michael, tweets,

Not to despair, these guys have raised young successfully in this territory
for several years, they're sure to be back (assuming one or both survive
till the next breeding season). Apparently the bond between an adult bird
and the location where it has raised young successfully is one of the
strongest bonds these creatures form (probably stronger even than between
members of a pair).

According to Mark Stalmaster (in his book "The Bald Eagle") complete nests
can be built in as little as four days (page 53), so there is no reason to
expect new nest construction to start earlier than what you've witnessed
these past years. And as you know, once construction is in full swing, it
will be hard to miss.

What has the schedule of the Marymoore eagles been?. Some nest construction
takes place between now and December and after reduced activity in January
will fire up again in February (at least in most territories I've watched in
the area).

I hope the birds show you where they are thinking of relocating (to) soon.
