I've posted a copy of my favorite Kestrel photograph to
<http://www.accessone.com/~jdwest/kestnest.gif>. It was taken by a
mathematics prof. at a German University a few years ago when a pair nested
in a suitable niche on the building he worked in. The 'gaping' is how
kestrels respond to threats and invasion of their privacy. It's big
(c.373KB) so if you don't have a fast connection, you may have to wait a
while for it to download, but I think you'll find it's worth the wait.
