Featured bird in an out of town report is EURASIAN KESTREL. Detailed
directions to it's location will be given after the sightings.

Sightings for Friday, November 5
The EURASIAN KESTREL was reported from it's location on Chuckanut Drive in
Washington.

Thursday, November 4
A light morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was observed near 52nd and 38th in Delta.

A HORNED LARK was seen doing it's best to avoid dogs and people in a rough
area at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver.

Wednesday, November 3
The EURASIAN DOTTEREL was reported from Ocean Shores in Washington State.

Also south of the border the EURASIAN KESTREL continued to be seen on
Chuckanut Drive The bird is now sporting a leg band which was placed there
by a local bander.

Tuesday, November 2
A EURASIAN KESTREL first seen on Sunday was relocated today on Chuckanut
Drive in Washington State.

A GREAT HORNED OWL was observed at Maplewood Flats.

Twelve BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were seen from the Stanley Park Seawall between
2nd Beach and Ferguson Point.

Monday, November 1
NORTHERN SHRIKES were reported from the Boundary Bay dikes at 72nd and 64th
Streets and from the Reifel Refuge. Also reported from Reifel were 3
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS and a PEREGRINE FALCON.

Tsawwassen's Beach Gove area was the location for 11 BRANT, a PEREGRINE,
and 5 GREATER YELLOWLEGS.

Three SNOW BUNTINGS were reported from the Pitt Lake Dike in Pitt Meadows..

Sunday, October 31
The CATTLE EGRET was again seen in Chilliwack and has moved to the
Chilliwack airport.

A PEREGRINE FALCON was over the Port Mann Bridge.

Saturday, October 30
The juvenile RED-NECKED STINT was seen at Iona Island along with 1 LEAST, a
PECTORAL and 20 WESTERN SANDPIPERS.

The EURASIAN DOTTEREL was reported from Ocean Shores.

Friday, October 29
A late CLIFF SWALLOW was seen over Iona Island.

For those interested in travelling south to see the EURASIAN KESTREL this
weekend, head south on I-5 to exit 236/Bow-Hill Road. Turn right at the
stop sign and follow the winding road until you reach Chuckanut Drive. Turn
right on
Chuckanut and the bird can be seen anywhere along this stretch of road,
depending on it's movement. Look for a large group of birders to mark the
bird. Good luck.
