Hi Tweets,

I birded Point No Point (NE corner of Kitsap Penisula) today, 11/7, from
about 11:30 to 1:30. The CLARK'S GREBE, presumably the same bird that Vic
Nelson has reported previously, is still there. It is in full winter
plumage now, so the bill color, yellow-orange versus the yellow-green bill
of the many WESTERN GREBES there, is the best mark to look for. Also, 6
ANCIENT MURRELETS made brief apperances. Still lots of BONAPARTE'S GULLS
(100s) around, as well as 20-30 HEERMAN'S GULLS. RED-THROATED, PACIFIC and
COMMON LOONS were also present.

The highlight of the day, however, was the ORCA pod feeding just east of
the point. I noted at least 7 dorsal fins at one time, including one very
large-finned male. Behaviors observed included tail-slapping and
spy-hopping (sticking there heads out of the water). The whales remained
in the area the entire time I was there.
