Hello Tweeters,
Even so we did not see the Eurasian Dotterel today, i was so happy to find
a rare to find a Taiga Merlin on Ocean shores. This is only the second
sighting for me on this particular subspecies.I got so close to this bird
because he was vigorously feeding on a prey. I remember taken the Hawk
class with Bud Anderson we had this most colourful Falcon on our Fieldtrip
and it been such a long time ago that saw such beauty again today.Taken
lo'ts of photos and turning away from the Merlin,he took his prey and flew
of

Now talking about the last sighting of the Eurasian Dotterel it was friday
the 5th that the bird was sighted the last time by Ken Knittel and other
birders. We had birders here today there looked all day Saturday and could
not find the bird. So as today, we all communicated together even so
looking at different places, we combed Ocean Shores good today. There where
birders from BC-Nevada-Idaho and Eastern Washington. It realy was fun to
meet all such good and polite birders. So many queston ask could we missed
this bird? After presenting my photos of this Dotterel there could not make
mistake missing or seeing this bird, he will stand out.As before he was
not seeing for several days, i think this bird is still around and got a
secret place what we did not figured out yet. So keep watching tweeters and
call the Bidbox.
Ocean Shores is still a good place to bird relaxing and getting away from
the City.
