Subject: UPDATE ON WHOOPER SWANS

Dear Birders,

Here is another update on the Whooper Swans at Mamit Lake, B.C.
They were seen by another group about noon yesterday, as described
below. It sounds like the north end of Mamit Lake may be worth
checking, as well as the south end. On Sunday, when Andy Raniseth and
I found the Whoopers at the south end, there were only Canada Geese
and Mallards at the north end of the lake, but I have seen swans there
in the past.
Ralph and Clara, you may have been the only birders who looked for
the swans yesterday and DID NOT see them. Maybe another try this
afternoon or tomorrow would be successful?
I have not heard whether anyone has seen the birds today (November
9), but I will pass along any information I receive. In the meantime,
it would be appreciated if any birders who see the swans, and are
members of BCINTBIRD or TWEETERS, would post directly to their
newsgroup to save time.
Photos of these birds are still needed for documentation, if
anyone is able to take any.

Happy swan-searching!
