Tweeters,

I have just learned from the WOS Bird Box that Tom Aversa-- not
content with discovering the Eurasian Dotterel at Ocean Shores-- has
found a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER near Point No Point in Kitsap County.
This guy must go birding with a rabbit's foot in each pocket. Maybe
Tom should join forces now and then with Steve Mlodinow. With their
combined karma, they could probably pull in SIBERIAN ACCENTORS, YELLOW
WAGTAILS, MONGOLIAN PLOVERS, and goodness knows what-- the sky's the
limit!
Honorable mention also to Bill Smith of Ocean Shores, who, in a
TWEETERS message on September 2, successfully predicted the appearance
of the Eurasian Dotterel. (If you don't believe me, check the TWEETERS
archives!)
Seriously, Tom-- congratulations on another great find. Even if
it's the second occurrence this fall, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher is still
an extremely rare bird in Washington.
