Whooper Swans seen today, at 13:31 hrs at Mamit Lake, near
Merritt BC.

This means that they have been seen at this location now for
five consecutive days, although there have been instances of
some birders not finding the birds.

Tony Greenfield was with me. We saw the three Whoopers
feeding peacefully in front of the south side of a little
island located at the SE end of Mamit Lake. This end of the
lake is on Hwy 97C, 27 km north from the junction of Hwys
97c and 8.

We saw the Whoopers as soon as we arrived, however,in
approximately 6-8 minutes the adult bird drifted out of
sight. At the south end of Mamit Lake, there were three
TRSW and 14 TRSW.

The drive to Mamit Lake from Horseshoe Bay in Vancouver, BC
took approximately 210 minutes. Today, the traffic was
relatively light on this normally very busy highway, but was
not very pleasant, as we encountered heavy rain and fog both
ways. But the drive was a small price to pay for a Lifer.
