Thank you to all the birders what shared there experience having an Anna's
on there feeder in winter or period.
I was so jealous when i heared or read of stories to attract this species
of Hummers.In previous years i been hanging feeders out before,but in late
Dezember. ;Last year when my friend had her Anna's she forgot to put her
feeder away, so she already had hers in ende October.
Patrick an i went to Point No Point this morning to find the Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher. It was kind the hard for me getting away from home and not to
find out if the Anna's was comming to the feeder this morning. Also i
rather went to Gog-Le -Hi-Tee to look again for the Slaty-backed Gull even
so i saw this bird so many times. I don't know what it is certain birds i
been more attracted to. My most favoured birds are Shorebirds Gulls and
Owls. The weather was realy bad today with rain and fog, try to take a
photo close to the beach on Point No Point of an immature Northern Shrike
and it was to dark for a photo.We searched for three hours what was way to
much time for me to spend, not so for the EURASIAN DOTTEREL on last Sunday
searching all day for this bird. Sofar Friday the 5th of November was the
last sighting of this bird.
Comming back Home my first look was at my Hummigbird feeder. I did not wait
fife minutes and the bird was there, he came 3 times in 15 minutes. So i
think he will stay over the winter. I even made new sugar water last night
and instead having the feeder close to the window ,we hang it in the maple
tree what is close to the Patio,so i can watch her without getting to
close. I wonder how many Anna's we will get on the Christmas birdcount this
year? Its certainly been exiting to get a Anna's Hummingbird in my own
yard.
