Tweeters,

While the WOS trip was birding around Sequim and Port Angeles
yesterday (nice report, Andy), I was peering through the fog further
east on Marrowstone Island. Nothing special, but I also enjoyed a RED
KNOT (hatching year bird if the blackish sub-terminal marks on the
coverts can be trusted). It was on the spit at the Fort Flagler
campground. (Incidentally, The Nat Geo guide shows dark rather than
grayish-green legs for its juvenile, which is a bit misleading. The
photo in Paulson's book is spot-on.) 22 SNOW GEESE were on the grassy
area. Three ANCIENT MURRELETS were just offshore by the lighthouse.
