Hi Tweets,

Recently, I have received requests from several of you
for directions to Shoreview Park in Shoreline. I
tried to get to them through the archives so I
wouldn't have to type it all out again, but because I
am typing it once, I suppose I will send it out to the
rest of the list.

>From I-5: If you are coming from the south, take the
145th street exit and head west to Aurora Ave. When
you get to Aurora, turn right and head north. Then
take a left (west) on 160th street. If you are coming
from the north, take the 175th street exit, and take a
right until you head up the hill and get to Aurora.
>From Aurora, turn left and head south until you get to
160th street. When you get to 160th, take a right and
go west.

>From here the directions are the same. Keep going
west on 160th until you get to the stop light. From
here, you want to take a right followed by an
immediate left. It sort of angles to the right
(you'll see what I mean when you get there). This
street is Innis Arden Way. Follow this as you go down
the hill, and the entrance to the park is on your
right about 2/3rds of the way down.

There is a wide range of different habitat types in
the park, and the best way to get to know your way
around is to go exploring. The hillside and the woods
above it are primarily decidous. The lower area of
the park, west of the soccer field and ballfield is
often quite productive. If you follow the trail
through this area, west, it will eventually take you
to hidden lake and Boeing Creek. There are trails
that run along the creek (there are some big trees
back here). On the other side of the creek is Boeing
Creek Park. There is also good bird watching there.
I can't tell you the best way to get there from the
streets thoughperhaps a map in hand would be the best
thing, or perhaps some other tweeter might like to
chime in and give directions to Boeing Creek Park (I
don't know but I think they have parking over there
now too). Anyway, I'm rambling

Good Luck,

Michael Dossett
