On October 25, 1999, shortly after I had updated the report, Dennis
Rockwell discovered a male COMMON GRACKLE at the corner of Chemical Drive
and 1st Avenue in Kennewick. However, five minutes later the bird could
not be relocated.

On November 1, 1999, Dennis reported 83 BONAPARTE'S GULLS in Two Rivers
Park and the following day saw a very late AMERICAN AVOCET at a settling
pond at the east end of Chemical Drive. Also on November 1, 1999, Nancy
LaFramboise and I saw eight TUNDRA SWANS, seven adults plus one immature on
the Yakima Delta. Also on the delta were four to six BONAPARTE'S GULLS and
a lone BARN SWALLOW.

On November 2, 1999, I found a lone ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER in Groves Park.

Ruth Fisher and Nancy LaFramboise birded the Willow Brook area in Richland
on November 5, 1999, and observed a GREAT-HORNED OWL and a GOLDEN-CROWNED
SPARROW. Off Columbia Park they saw a COMMON LOON while on the Yakima
Delta they saw about sixty COMMON-GOLDENEYE plus LEAST SANDPIPERS, DUNLIN,
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, COMMON SNIPE, and a lone BARN SWALLOW. I also
birded the Delta on November 5, 1999, and to their list added forty-two
LESSER SCAUP, 21 HOODED and six COMMON MERGANSERS, one GREATER YELLOWLEGS
and 38 BONAPARTE'S GULLS. While on Columbia Point I found a HERMIT THRUSH
and one YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER of the MYRTLE race.
