Greeting Tweeters;
Today Marilynne and I headed down to Duncan to do some Christmas
Shopping and perhaps a little birding, I dropped Marilynne off at the
Farmers Market at the south end of Duncan and I went in search of a
reported Cattle Egret behind the Market.
I found two Cattle Egrets down Modesta Rd. off Sahilton Rd. in the
fields, one of the Egret's was sitting on the large wheel of the
sprinkler system and the other one was feeding in the field. This was
very exciting, I watched them for about twenty minutes through my scope,
then they flew off to the Northeast.
I went back and picked up Marilynne and went in search of the Egrets
again. We found them in a field at Tom Rd. off Boy's Rd. to the north
east of where I first sighted them. They were about twenty to thirty
feet from were we parked the car, so again we had a excellent view and
studied them for about ten minutes.
All in all a very exciting time of birding.
