What a coincidence! This afternoon I witnessed a RED-TAILED HAWK roll up
and snag a BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE out of a flock that was mobbing it. The
hawk immediately landed on a post and began plucking his meal. His
meal's friends and relatives continued to vocalize their consternation,
but they did it from a respectful distance.

Also, on Feruary 9, 1996, I saw a mature BALD EAGLE roll up and grab a
COMMON CROW from a flock that was mobbing it. The eagle ate the crow
too.
