Wayne, Randy and Tweeters,

Some other accessible and reliable locations for swans (often TRUMPETER
SWANS) in addition to those outlined below south of BC (north to south) at
this season include:
1 - Duley Lake on the Colville Indian Reservation - on the Cameron Lake
Road which is open to the public. Also excellent for Gyrfalcon, Snowy Owl,
and Snow Bunting. Sharp-tailed Grouse are scarce, but possible.
2 - Okanogan River north and east of Brewster and the slackwaters where it
enters the Columbia
3 - Banks Lake, especially the southeastern (a marshy area at about
Milepost 4 or 5 north of Coulee City) end
4 - about midway along Lake Lenore
5 - Kahlotus Lake northeast of Pasco (TUNDRA is all I've seen here, but
these can be abundant...if it has water!)

The great Washington WHOOPER hunt is on!
