Hi Tweeties,

Had a soggy morning of birding today. A bunch of us from Rainier Audubon
had the rare privilege to go into the Ponds area from the north, entering
behind the Animal Shelter.

While I was with the group, here is what we sighted:

GOLD CROWN SPARROW
HARRIER HAWK
RED TAIL HAWK (3)
KESTRAL
GREAT BLUE HERON
CORMORANT
RING BILL DUCK
AMERICAN WIGEONS (possible Eurasian in with them)
BUFFLEHEADS
NORTHERN PINTAILS

I left the group early and headed down to "Lake Smith Brothers Dairy" to
check on the swans. The rain was pouring down, so I pulled off the road
(without drowning my car), wound down the window and counted SEVEN SWANS!
Roger Orness says he spotted NINE SWANS down there this morning. So it
looks like we've got good swan watching going on. Is it safe to say we've
seen TUNDRA SWANS?
