Mike and Merry Lynn Denny, Denny Granstrand, Ellen Quiring and myself got a
nice guided tour to birding "hot" spots in western Walla Walla County
Sunday. We started at Hood Park along, the Snake River, then McNary NWR's
nature trail pool, then the feedlots at Iowa Beef for blackbirds and the
ponds behind this facility for waterfowl, then Ice Harbor Dam for gulls,
and finally Fishook Park upstream along the Snake.

Here's what we noted:

WESTERN GREBE-10 below Ice Harbor Dam
DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT-30, widespread
