I've noticed quite a few Common Redpoll sightings showing up. This looks
like a good redpoll year developing. We need to watch for Hoary Redpolls.
And where they have shown up before might be the places to look first. I
know of 5 counties where there is at least 1 record. They are Ferry,
Okanogan, Spokane, Stevens, and Walla Walla Cos. They probably will be
associated with Common Redpolls. I have seen redpolls in Alders, Willows,
and just along the back roads in wheat country. Places where one might find
goldfinches might be a place to look also.

Common Redpolls have been seen in all the Eastern Washington counties and
half the Western Washington Cos. Here is the list of counties that I don't
have records from: Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, Mason, Pacific,
Pierce, Skamania, Thurston, and Wahkiakum Cos. If anyone finds them in any
of these please let me know.
