In response to 11/19 post re: Common Redpoll Invasion - no kidding! A
large flock of 40+ spent the day feeding in alder stands between office
complexes in Federal Way, off 1st Ave SW. Specifically. the Park Center
I and II building sites at 33400 S. 8th, off 336th and 9th. The large
noisy flock remained in the area all day.

For others in the area, the newly completed Celebration Park has some
nice hiking trails through cedar/alder/maple cover, with some riparian
habitat now filling in after construction, and links to the BPA trail
for some nice, easy, urban bird watching. As construction has
completed, the area is becoming more conductive to bird watching and
might be worth the time.
