It is quite possible that the "very tiny bird" was a hummingbird. For my
field birding class last Sunday, at Montlake, we had a likely immature
male Anna's Hummingbird perching on the Red Osier Dogwood near the trail
entrance by the Urban Hort parking lot and feeding on the flowers
nearby.Nice views and gave people in the class a great demonstration on
the nature of structural colors. Pretty quiet otherwise, but we did get
really nice looks at the immature Cooper's Hawk during the morning.
