While sitting at my kitchen table catching up on Tweeters digests and
thinking about where I was going to go looking for Redpolls, two crashing
noises on my window caused me to jump. I saw a large flock of small birds
heading towards a stand of firs and pines. On my deck lay the two birds
that crashed into the window. This is not my preferred method for
birdwatching, especially for a lifer. The window they crashed into is about
six feet long and has horizontal blinds.

The Common Redpolls appeared to be goners; eyes closed and heads sinking
down. I put them in a shoe box and brought them into the warmth of the
house. Within about 5 minutes one of the birds started fluttering about so
I released him outside. The other bird is next to me in the box, looking
much more attentive but I'm not sure if he'll make it too.

Could an inland NW birder please send me the link for the inland list group?

Thanks,
