There are literally thousands of square miles that are not observed by
birders and also a swan can probably fly out of BC, over WA, and on
southward in one 24 hour period.

If we would put satellite tracking devices on them instead of bands we could
just tick them off via the computer. We would not have to hunt for them. We
would always know where they are. When one got close enough we could drag
ourselves outside and take a peek at it flying over. :-)
