Hello-

Today(Saturday) at about 1:30 there was a longspur at the
Montlake Fill, flying around the main pond. I didn't get a
clean look at it, but I'm pretty sure it is a Lapland
Longspur. When it flushed, the white outer tail feathers
were visible, and the flight call matched descriptions in
National Geographic bird guide. There were also a couple
red-tails, an Anna's Hummingbird by Urban Horticulture, some
yellow-rumped warblers by the hummingbird, and lots of ducks
on the lake, including around 100 Ring-necked Ducks. A note
from yesterday at the fill- I saw the Peregrine as light was
fading away last night, and saw it leave the big dead
cottonwood and stoop on a duck out near the bridge. I
couldn't tell whether it was successful, but it was
something to watch!!!
