Subject: Chestnut-collared Longspur still at Hoquiam

We watched the ad. male Chestnut-collared Longspur today at leisure
down to 20 feet or so, between ~ 2 and 4 pm. It was in the exact same
place as yesterday afternoon, or along the muddy track nearer the fence
along the sewage pond. Occasionally it would seem to disappear, but then
it was in the rougher grass between the road and the fence, never more than
0.1 mi. west of the main site near some discarded orange disks, 0.2 mi.
west of the intersection of Airport Way and Moon Island Road. The bird
crouches a lot (even when walking), so it's easy to miss.

Also in the area are 2 imm. Greater White-fronted Geese among the
Canadas west of the sewage plant itself, and an imm. Rough-legged Hawk
north of the sewage ponds, out near WA-109.

Good birding, folks.
