Hi-- just a quick note to say that the white-backed
chickadee that I reported a few days ago returned
today in the company of several other chickadees (both
Black-capped and Chestnut-backed but mostly
Chestnut-backed) and again stayed close in the
forsythia eating peanuts while the others flitted to
nearby trees with their prizes and back, but
"White-back" left with the group when some juncos
moved in. Also some Golden-crowned Kinglets came
through at about the same time but they don't seem to
land on the suet feeder...just work over the sword
ferns, conifer branches, and shrubs, even quite close
to the house. Do others of you get them on the feeder?
Is there something they prefer?

Also had a nice view of a young male "orange-shafted"
flicker bathing in my birdbath while a male Towhee sat
on a fireweed stem less than a foot away and watched.
What a colorful pair!
