A dozen hardy souls met me for a gull-intensive field trip at Green Lake
this morning. Adult gulls included 1 Thayer's, 3 Herring, 1 Western, 4
California, and lots of Mew, Glaucous-winged (and G-w X W. hybrids), and
Ring-billed. On the grassy field adjacent to the gym were about 120
wigeons, including a drake and hen Eurasian Wigeon keeping close contact
with one another as they grazed across the lawn. The hen was a typical
brown-morph.
