Subject: short-eared hotspots?

The southern part of the trail at Nisqually NWR, between the parking lot and
McAllister Creek is often a reliable place to see short-eared owls near
dusk, especially the part of the trail closer to McAllister Cr. The refuge
is now open until 9pm. That part of the trail will be open through hunting
season also. I haven't spotted them there yet this fall though... when do
you think they'll be back?
