Hello Tweeters,
Today i spend some time in Olympia to check out what could i find on
Dragonflies. I picked the South Puget Sound Comminity College.Earlier in
the season i found quite few Dragonflies on this 4 ponds on Campus. But
even find in the 100 and more Striped Meadowhawks where ever you stepped
there was every where. I netted only to find out, if there are
Yellow-legged Meadowhawks around. At one time i netted three pairs at once.
Amazing how many there where.Again i saw quite few Female Darners. Both
the andromatic which is brown and blue and the other is the heterochromatic
which is brown and green.I only found Paddle-tailed Darners on this ponds.
Infact i had only three species there, but large amount of every species.
Common Spreadwing male+female ( Lestes disjunctus)
Paddle tailed Darner male + female (Ashna palmata
Strped Meadowhawk male + female ( Sympetrum pallipes)
Sorry my mistake on last message about how many species was sighted.Nine
was correct.
