Today, Mon. , Oct. 4th the two watchers at Cooper Mt. on Chelan Ridge were
visited by a N. Hawk Owl. First it perched, in a snag near the upper owl
on a post) , then it flew down to within 35 ft. of them. A "first"
sighting for this hawk watch spot, and their 2nd owl this year, as they had
a Pygmy Owl a few days ago. There total no. of birds went over 2,000 last
Friday. If you are still planning a trip to this site, dress warmly, as
the nights and mornings have been quite cool. When the wind blows, it gets
worse. Meredith
