Hi! I am new to the area and still looking for good birding spots. Could
somebody recommend some within a couple hours of Seattle? I am particularly
interested in hawks as an ex-intern with the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory.
Also, I was at Discovery Park this weekend and was pretty sure I saw a
group of 5 black scoters mixed in with the gulls and surf scoters off the
coast. Does that seem likely? I am too new to the area to know the
relative abundance of different types of scoters. Thanks very much!
