At Rocky Point (Vancouver Island), between 1200 and 1500 vultures were
hanging out until October 4. They may have left that day as only a handful
were present on October 5.

Yesterday (10/4) Tammy and I spent the day with Diann MacRae at her Turkey
Vulture study site at Salt Creek County Park. We had great weather. Since
Diann's last message to Tweeters on 9/28 she has counted about 600-700 more
Turkey Vultures crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuca. This makes a total of
about 1400 so far this season. While we were there we counted 67 TUVU and 2
Northern harriers cross over.
