Hi Tweets,
I had a pleasent evening at Spencer Island, and even
ran into some other tweeters (Hi Wes!). It was pretty
slow when I got there, but it became a little more
active when it got to be sunset. There are still lots
of SAVANNAH SPARROWS. Other highlights were a flock
of about 5 or 6 GREATER YELLOWLEGS flying overhead, a
single LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER, and what I consider the
best sighting of the evening, 3 SANDHILL CRANES! I
only heard one of their low gutteral notes, but it was
enough to alert me to their presence, and to get me to
look up to see them rising as they came over the
marsh. They headed off to the southeast.
