I had a nice little outing along Lk Washington from Seward PArk to Sayers
park yesterday. Saw grebes of various sizes all along the way. Does
anyone have any tips on differentiating among the middle- sized ones? I
have no problem with the Western and the Pied-bill, but I find the others
all look kind of alike through binocs, especially when they keep diving
just as I get 'em in focus.

Highlights of the day included a first of the season pair of RING-NECKED
DUCKS and a CONURE flyover in and above Andrews Bay at Seward Park and a
half-dozen WESTERN GREBES about 100 yards offshore of the Lakewood MArina.
