Tweeters,

Just a follow-up note on Michelle's advice on blowfly prevention. Larvae
pupate about the time nestlings fledge and adult flies emerge in about 10
days. These adults overwinter and infest the nests the next season.

You must destroy the nest material (about 10 days after fledging), before
adult flies emerge or it won't work. Incidentally, there is scientific
evidence that this procedure will reduce infestation rates.
