At Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland, south of Tacoma, the northern
flickers tend to have pink wing linings and black moustaches, as far as I
could tell. I didn't realize intergrades were so common in western WA, and I
thought my observations had been wrong, due to my inexperience. But it
sounds like they were actually intergrades.
